Winchester, with former England and GB Olympian Simon Hazlitt taking charge from the touchline, pulled off a creditable 2-2 draw at fourth placed South League Premier Division Spencer, where Kieran Molloy and Micah Smithart put their side 2-0 ahead.
Spencer responded with a drag flick just before half-time and converted another short corner midway through the second half. It could have gone either way after that, but some fine saves by Ben Cowling ensured Winchester emerged with a creditable point. Trojans produced their best SPL2 results so far, with Ben Frost scoring twice in the 5-2 win over Guildford at Stoneham Lane. Richard Aves, Colin French and Scott Summers completed the scoring. In Hampshire/Surrey Regional Division 2, Southampton broke their six-match duck with a 2-1 win at Addiscombe, while Romsey’s losing sequence ended with a 1-0 win over high riding London Edwardians II.
