2/14/2017 0 Comments TROJANS STUNNED IN LATE DRAMATrojans Ladies saw a potential National Women’s League Western Conference win snatched from their grasp when Isca salvaged a 2-2 draw with a last gasp equaliser at Stoneham lane.
Trojans looked probably winners on the back on a second minute striker by Jill Tooms - which Elly Yard cancelled out before half-time – and a penalty corner from Sally Gibson, which the Stoneham girls clung on to … until Isca equalised with the final play. Trojans seconds saw their eight-match South League winning run ended with a 3-1 defeat at Lewes, but bounced back to remain third by thrashing Wanderers 5-1. Joe Slade scored Trojans goal at Lewes, but left it to team-mates Daisy Strange, Bella Slawin, Imo Lea, Sarah Shaw and Mel Addy to inflict the damage against Wanderers. Fareham looked set to do Trojans a favour when they led East Grinstead 2-1 – only to concede a last gasp equaliser. Jo Faulkner and Hannah Oldham wiped out EG’s early lead and looked to have sealed it for Fareham – only for the visitors to make it 2-2 in the final play. Southampton’s ten match winless run ended with an emphatic 4-0 win at relegated Worthing , where Sue Merry (2), Nat Romain and Charlotte Ayres were on target.
