![]() Southampton are eying a possible fourth place finish in South Women's League Division 3B after ending their campaign with a sparkling 7-2 win at relegated Wimbledon. They will end up fourth if Teddington fail to beat Tulse Hill & Dulwich this weekend. Lou Hopkins (left) led the way with a hat-trick as Southampton scored seven times for the second consecutive match - winless Worthing having been steam-rollered 7-0 the previous week. Lauren Carter got the Southampton spree under way with a bullet-like shot from a penalty corner, which Hopkins soon doubled. Wimbledon pulled one back, but by half-time a Bernie Jones deflection put Southampton 3-1 up. Early second half strikes by Hopkins and Sue Merry effectively ended it as a contest, although Wimbledon did claw it back to 5-2 before Southampton added two more goals. Hopkins completed her hat-trick before Naomi Bulkeley completed the scoring. * Southampton's 'Back to Hockey' sessions are under way at the Southampton Sports Centre on Tuesday evenings between 6 and 7.30pm.
