Portsmouth Grammar School’s Ethan Hoddle scored an equaliser two minutes from the end to climax a fine second half comeback by Havant, who held England Men’s Hockey Western Conference title chasers Exeter University 2-2, having trailed 2-0 at one stage. Sam Hatherley scored Havant’s first.
Jamie Rawlings converted a penalty former six minutes from time to earn Fareham deserved 3-2 win at Clifton Robinsons, who wiped out a tenth minute strike by George Davey to take a 2-1 lead until Kieran Page equalised on the stroke of half-time. A second half short corner goal by Laura Anning was enough to earn Trojans ladies a 1-0 win at Olton & West Warwicks. Amazingly, Winchester men were involved in yet another 4-4 draw, this time at South Premier Division bottom club Horsham, while Trojans lost 3-1 to SPL2 leaders Tunbridge Wells for whom ex-Havant hit man Ben Allberry scored twice. * A full round up of the weekend's hockey action will appear in the next 24 hours.
