Haslemere are set to host this season’s Hampshire County Day hockey finals at Woolmer Hill on bank holiday Monday May 6.
The finals have been hosted by Fleet & Ewshott for the past few seasons. The semi-finals of the Senior Cup on April 13 will see Andover host Havant and Fareham play Wimborne Wayfarers at Henry Cort. South League Premier Division 1 outfit Winchester were unable to raise a side, handing Havant a walkover into the semis. The Trophy quarter-finals are on March 17 and feature Fleet & Ewshott v Bournemouth, Hamble v Basingstoke, Southampton v Southampton University, and United Services make the long trek to Swanage & Wareham. Fareham and Winchester seconds have progressed to the semi-finals of the Open League Cup by virtue of walkovers. In the other half of the draw, Basingstoke II will host Havant III and Southampton University II entertain Haslemere at Wide Lane. The quarter-finals of the Trophy will be played on Sunday and feature Fleet & Ewshott V v Havant V, Gillingham II v Poole II, Hamble III v United Services II, and Southampton University IV v Alton II. Havant’s youngsters beat Aldershot & Farnham 3-0 to reach the Easterbrook Under-18 Cup final on May 6, where they will play either Woking or cup holders Bournemouth.
