9/26/2017 0 Comments Fareham leave Bath tub emptyTwo Team Bath goals in three second half minutes wiped out Fareham’s half-time lead and pointed England Hockey’s Western Conference champions to a 4-2 win at Coombe Down.
The Bath students seized a 15th minute lead through Harry Skinner following short corner pressure, but a Jamie Rawlings drag flick and a second from open play by skipper Alex Boxall put Fareham’s noses in front early in the second half. When goalkeeper George Harris, pictured, beat out Matt Ming’s penalty stroke, Fareham grew in confidence. [Harris saved two penalty flicks in last season's relegation play-off victory over Indian Gymkhana]. But they have never beaten the Buccaneers and their prospects of ending that unproductive five-year sequence were shattered when Team Bath upped the tempo and Sam Anderson and England Under-21 prospect Peter Scott turned the game on its head with two goals in quick succession. A fourth Bath goal by Adam Croutear wrapped it up. Fareham look for a better outcome when Isca, beaten 4-2 by relegated Olton & West Warwicks, visit Henry Cort on Sunday, 1.30.
